Synagogue - Israel Solidarity Display
At this time of great challenge to Israel’s being,
it’s absolutely critical for us as a vibrant, resourceful and caring
congregation to be able to stand up for Israel in the media and political
frontlines; to educate ourselves as to the real record of her genuine intent
and efforts towards peace and compromise, and re-affirm that in public.
It is also incumbent upon us to stand by our
brethren under daily physical attack by displaying and communicating our
solidarity with them, through letters, visits, missions, and tzedakah.
As a focal point to these values and corresponding
action items, we suggest an Israel Solidarity Display neatly situated by a wall
and visible as one enters the front entrance.
I am certain this can be funded by private individuals. Key materials would include:
1.
Current
and direct Israeli News summaries updated every week. Suggested sources
include: Jerusalem Post, Arutz-7 and news from the Israeli Ministry of Foreign
Affairs
2.

today as well as territory ceded to the Palestinian Authority since Oslo.

and recycled Arab propaganda; IDF stats on Palestinian Arab attacks after
cease-fire agreements.

etc.
